Betty Jean Blaine
Wheelersburg-Betty Jean Blaine, 85, of Wheelersburg, went home to be with her Savior Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in WV. Betty was born July 9, 1931 in Sciotoville, Ohio to the late Thomas and Fannie Hurst. She retired from Best Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after 23 years of service as the Housekeeping Supervisor where she was loved and respected by staff and residents. Her family was her pride and joy and she loved them with her whole heart. She was a friend to many and had a special way of making everyone smile and leaving an impression that was unforgettable. She enjoyed traveling with her family, her best friend Lena Maud, also known as Thelma and Louise and the Golden Girls. She loved working outside and camping. She attended Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church and was blessed with a loving church family. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Hurst, Charles “Hamp” Hurst and former husband Paul Blaine. She is survived by two daughters, Paula (David) Maggard and Dreama (Buddy) Schultz; two sons, Mike (Beth) Blaine and Randy (Sue) Blaine; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister Joann Grant and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Sat. Nov 26, 2016 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Pastor Gary Selby officiating and interment to follow in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 and one hour before the service on Saturday.
