Matthew “Matt” Paul Hamm
Wheelersburg-Matthew “Matt” Paul Hamm, 32, of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at his residence, due to a medical condition. Matt was to everyone exactly what they needed, which meant something different to each person. He was the common denominator always providing comfort and support to all who knew him, always smiling and joking, he brought joy and laughter into the lives of everyone he came into contact with. Matt was quick witted, so talented, patient and so preciously kind and loving. He stood for the true meaning of humbleness. Matthew graduated from East and SCJVS in 2003.
Matthew is survived by his parents Regina Wright of Wheelersburg and Paul (Carol) Hamm of Lucasville. Siblings, Tashanda (Jeff) Boggs of Wheelersburg; Mark Hamm, “his best bud”, (Misty White) and a very special niece Nevaeh Hamm; Keith (Jill) Burton and niece Jessica; Ryan (Robyn) Burton and nieces Mikayla and Rebecca; sisters, April (Danny) Montgomery and Scherina (Josh) Johnson. Also survived by his grandmother, Anita Hamm; biological father Raymond Burton of Oak Hill; a special aunt, Drema Holbrook of Sciotoville; aunt Ellie (Jim) Whitmore and Patty Solic; uncles, Wayne (Evelynn) Hamm and Jack Wright. Jason Burton was not only his cousin, but also his best friend. Christy Turvey (girlfriend) his “flower” to her “sunshine”, who he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Patricia and Connie Risner and Homer Hamm; uncles, Vernon Wright, Larry Wright, Tim Risner and Dave Holbrook.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Pastor Brian Holbrook officiating and interment to follow in Jackson Furnace Cemetery in Jackson, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 and one hour before the service on Monday. Online condolences may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com
