Mary Louise Carver
Portsmouth-Mary Louise Carver, 86, of Portsmouth, formerly of Wheelersburg, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at Hillview Retirement Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Mary was born February 1, 1930, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Frank and Helen Margarite Callahan Fields. Mary was owner of Kach All Portable Buildings and Carver Sales, she was a member of Temple Baptist Church and she was also a volunteer at Hospice and SOMC Gift Shop in Portsmouth, Ohio. She played piano and organ and directed choirs and was a vocalist at many of the area churches. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred McKinley Carver, April 13, 2008 whom she married July 9, 1946 in Greenup, KY. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Farley Hoover. She is survived by two daughters, Marnette (Paul) Perry and Marquita (Steve) Riepenhoff; a brother, David Lee Fields of Kenya, Africa; three grandchildren, Natalie Malone, Travis Riepenhoff and Allyson Perry Bear and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Pastor John Gowdy officiating. Private interment will be in Siloam Cemetery in Greenup, KY at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the funeral home. After the service Thursday, everyone is invited to a fellowship luncheon at Porter Township Community Center on Bulwer St. in Wheelersburg.
