Regenia Ann Spaulding
Wheelersburg-Regenia Ann Spaulding, 81, of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Best Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg. Regenia was born Sept. 10, 1935 in Sciotoville, Ohio to the late James Wallace Booten and Dorothy Alene Montgomery Booten. She was a graduate of East High, class of ’53. Soon after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Dick Spaulding and moved to Huntington, WV to setup a home on Donald Court while Dick attended Marshall. After graduation, with two young children they moved back to Sciotoville. A few years later and one more child, they moved to Wheelersburg. Jean was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was affectionately known as MeMe. She became a working mother and worked in the banking business for 34 years with Security Central National Bank (later Bank One) at the Wheelersburg location. Along with work and raising a family, she was a long standing member of the Wheelersburg United Methodist Church; an avid sunbather at Tan Lan pool in her earlier days; enjoyed monthly card parties with her friends; loved Burg football and the Steelers; loved to cook; loved to shop and loved the beach.
In addition to her husband Richard, whom she married Sept. 5, 1953 in Sciotoville, Ohio, she is survived by a son, Rick (Liz) Spaulding; two daughters, Kathy (Ken) Hardy and Jan (David) Bootcheck; a brother, Gary (Anne) Booten; six grandchildren, Jay Spaulding, Jan Nesteroff, Kevin Hardy, Rebecca Hardy, Emily Bootcheck and Sarah Bootcheck Portal and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, April 10, 2017 at Wheelersburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating and interment in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg and one hour before the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jean’s name to Wheelersburg United Methodist Church, 11605 Gallia Pike Road, Wheelersburg, OH 45694. Also, the family would like to thank the staff at Best Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg for the excellent, professional and compassionate care they provided during our time of need.
