Alline Patton Ratcliff
Natural Bridge, VA-Alline Patton Ratcliff passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at age 85, after a long illness. Alline was born in Magoffin County, Kentucky, on November 24, 1929. At age 13, she moved to Wheelersburg, Ohio, where her family farmed and sold crops at a roadside stand on Dogwood Ridge for many years. In 1953, Alline married and moved to central Ohio. She raised her children in Canal Winchester, Ohio and spent her later years in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where she worked for Lazarus department store. Alline is predeceased by her parents, Tavis and Fannie Barnett Patton; brothers, Thomas, Jack and Lee Patton; sister, Maxeline Patton Dyer and former husband, Howard B. Ratcliff. She is survived by her children, Brenda Ratcliff (Joseph Palermo), of Natural Bridge, Virginia and Mark (Marty) Ratcliff, of Amanda, Ohio; her sister, Jane Patton Bailey Cooper, of Charleston, SC; her sister-in-law, Willa Jean (Billie; Mrs. Jack) Patton, of Wheelersburg, OH and dear friend, Bertie Miller, also of Wheelersburg.
Alline’s many nieces and nephews survive her and many live in the Wheelersburg area; Michael, Richard (Nellie), Wayne (Margie), Tim (Rita), Ron and Jeff (Sandy) Patton; Betty Dyer Scheibly, Wade (Peggy) Dyer, Danny (Carolyn) Dyer, Diane Dyer (Mike) Knight; David, Toney and Steven (Becky) Bailey and Kim Bailey Mackey; George (Sharon), James Floyd and Charles Ratcliff and Geraldine Ratcliff Raikes plus many great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg has been entrusted with the arrangements.
