Watt Leonard Roe, Jr.
Wheelersburg-Watt Leonard Roe, Jr., 87, of Wheelersburg, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. Watt was born May 29, 1930 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Watt Leonard and Lena Rose Roe. Watt was a retired meat cutter for Deemer’s Market in Wheelersburg, and had served in the Naval Reserves. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jarrells Roe, May 15, 2000 whom he married February 20, 1954 in South Shore, KY. Also preceding him death was a son, Robert Leonard Roe. He is survived by three sons, Larry Roe, Richard (Lisa) Roe and Jeff (Carol) Roe; two daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Lemon and Kelley (Donnie) Smith; a sister, Donna Smith; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastor Brian Baer and Pastor Calvin Ray Evans officiating and interment to follow in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, from 5:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, July 19, 2017 and one hour before the service on Thursday. The family would like to thank the home care workers who took care of him at home and the staff at Best Care and SOMC Hospice.
