Robert Joseph Gerlach
Wheelersburg-Robert “Bob” Gerlach, 75 of Wheelersburg went to be with his heavenly father Thursday, August 17, 2017. Bob was born June 12, 1942 to the late Carl “Dutch” and Catherine Gerlach. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Susan (Weaver) Gerlach and daughter Suzanna Gerlach. He is also survived by two brothers, Bill (Darlene) Gerlach and Ben (Debbie) Gerlach and one sister, Betty (Roger) Bahner. He had many nieces, nephews and cousins, including Christina (Darrell) Gerlach Armstrong.
He served in the U.S. Army four years. He was a graduate of Wheelersburg High Class of 1960, he also attended college, had a four year scholarship to Marshall, but farming was his true calling. He ran Gerlach potato farms for many decades. Bob also drove school bus for 30 years for the Wheelersburg School System and loved all the kids through his years of driving. He loved the Browns, Buckeyes and especially the Reds.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastor Kent Madden officiating and interment to follow in Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, August 21, 2017 and one hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
