Norma Mae Chaffin
Lucasville-Norma Mae Chaffin, 81, of Lucasville, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at River Bend House in Wheelersburg. Norma was born May 6, 1936 in Williamsburg, Ohio to the late George Washington and Elvira Bordwell Balzhiser. Norma was retired as a Library Aide from Roosevelt School in the Portsmouth City School System; she also volunteered at the SOMC gift shop for many years. Norma was a member of Valley United Methodist Church. The Lord was the foundation in her life. She reflected His light to others and lived out her faith by example. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donaly Ray Chaffin on September 6, 2008, whom she married June 30, 1957 at Williamsburg United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by six siblings. She is survived by two sons, Jeff (Kim) Chaffin and Brad (Susie) Chaffin; two daughters, Donna Crandall and Maria (Scott) Jolly; eleven grandchildren, Aaron, Lauren, Maegan, Jordan, Craig, Kelly, Stephanie, Courtney, Tina, Gregory, and Molly; two great grandchildren, Owen and Madison and a sister, Elma Bainum.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Wheelersburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating and interment to follow in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives from 11:00 am until time for the service at 1:00 pm on Wednesday. Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg has been entrusted with the arrangements.
