Marvin Junior Knapp
Wheelersburg-Marvin Junior Knapp, 87, of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at his residence. Marvin was born April 3, 1930 in Franklin Furnace to the late Marvin and Elizabeth Martins Knapp. He had worked at the former Detroit Steel Mill, SOCF, also as a barber and also had been employed by South Webster Schools as a bus driver; he was a member of Antioch Freewill Baptist church; James Dickey American Legion Post #23 and he was a US Air Force Korean Veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Clark and Carol Armstrong. Marvin is survived by his wife, Emma Walters Knapp; a son, Daniel Knapp; five brothers, Paul, Jim, George, Kenneth and Edward Knapp and two sisters, Ruth Ann Bennett and Harriet McWhorter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Rick Henderson officiating with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 pm Friday, November 10, 2017 and one hour before the service on Saturday.
