Willie Pennington
Wheelersburg-Willie Pennington, 92, of Wheelersburg, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his residence. Willie was born April 6, 1925 in Salyersville, KY to the late Audie and Bertha Hall Pennington. He worked in construction as a pipefitter and belonged to the Local #577 Plumbers and Pipefitters union and he was a US Army veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Watson Pennington April 30, 2013, whom he married September 13, 1945 in Salyersville, KY. Also preceding him was a brother, Rex and a sister Becky Jane Carpenter. Survivors include a nephew Harold and his wife Regina who cared for him; two brothers, Marcus and Clayton Pennington and a sister, Alme Knapper.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, January 1, 2018 and one hour before the service Tuesday. On-line condolences may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
