Marie Bates
Wellston-Marie Bates, 81, of Wellston, OH passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH. Marie was born August 27, 1936 in Scioto County to the late Loren and Mary Alice Payton Adams. She was a homemaker; a member of Eastern Star and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters. Marie is survived by her husband, Paul Bates whom she married May 24, 1954 in Wheelersburg, OH. She is also survived by two sons, Richard Bates and Ernest Roy Bates; two daughters, Sharon Bates and Mary Jean Elrod; a sister, Ethel Nagel; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
