Phyllis Joan Jarvis
Portsmouth-Phyllis Joan Jarvis, 74, of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at her residence. Phyllis is the daughter of the late Bertha Pole Moore and Vernon Caplinger. She was raised by her mother and late stepfather, Carl Moore in York, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Patrick “Pat” Dalton; a daughter, Phyllis Horn; two sisters, Sara Moore and Linda Withem; four brothers, Frank Caplinger, David and Daniel Moore and a brother who died at birth. She was also preceded in death by her three husbands, Carl Dalton, Elmer Horn, Sr. and Reggie Jarvis. Phyllis is survived by two children, Roxanne Parker of Palatka, FL and Elmer Horn, Jr. of Portsmouth; three sisters, Debbie Horn, of KY, Diane Smith of TN and Brenda Stapleton of KY; four brothers, Denver and Gary Moore of Ada, OH and Michael and Dennis Moore of Delaware. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis spent most of her life as a homemaker. She loved her flowers, especially her roses. She was a loving mother and was truly a big sister to her siblings. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park.
