Donald R. Boggs

Wheelersburg-Donald R. Boggs, 80, of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at his residence. Donald was born June 12, 1937 and raised in the South Shore area of KY. His father was Willard Boggs and mother Lenora Stone Boggs. Donald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Connie Bussler Boggs; daughter, Donna (Kevin) Allen; son, Paul D. (Julie) Boggs; two grandchildren, the loves of his life, Lauren and Ben Allen; sisters, La Fanna McKenzie and Linda (Bob) Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Kaye and Tim Cosgrove; special friends, Bob and Sherry Hurley and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a son, Donald Alan and a brother, Gorden Boggs. Donald served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He retired from the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion plant after 26 years. He was a member of Wheelersburg Baptist Church for 57 years and served in many areas of the church until he became ill. He loved the Lord and God’s word and loved to share and discuss it with anyone. Donald also loved to share the plan of salvation to lost people and led many of them to the Lord. He had a great sense of humor, loved to make people laugh. He was a praying man and there was never a problem to big or small that he wouldn’t pray about saying, “I talked to the Lord about it”. He loved to sing and whistle and tell stories especially ones about growing up in KY. He loved music and loved blue-grass gospel. He will be missed by his family, friends and church family.

Funeral services will be noon Monday, June 11, 2018 at Wheelersburg Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Brandt officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until the noon service hour Monday. Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
