Larry Edward Harris
PORTSMOUTH-Larry Edward Harris, 80, of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday February 11, 2025 at his home. Larry was born April 21, 1944 in Greenfield, Ohio to the late Sherman E. Harris and Hannah Elizabeth Stumbo Bixler. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his Stepfather who raised him, John Bixler and a brother, Dale Harris. Larry was a Marine Corp veteran and served in Vietnam. He worked for CSX as a train engineer and belonged to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Division 698. Larry was a member of Rubyville Community Church. Larry is survived by his wife, Judy Harris, whom he married September 10, 1993 in Sevier County, TN. He is also survived by a son, Ryan Harris; four daughters, Linda Smith, Marsha Adkins, Lisa Whitten and Tracy Diehl; two brothers, Bob Bixler, and Johnny Bixler; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Services for Larry will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Brian Baer officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park with James Dickey Post 23 doing military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 6:00-8:00 pm and one hour before the 11:00 am service on Tuesday. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
