Marcella Smith Sparks
WHEELERSBURG-Marcella Smith Sparks, 90, of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday, March13, 2025 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Marcella was born January 13, 1935 in Minford to the late Rubie Smith and Opal Horsely Smith. Marcella was self-employed as a beautician and a member of Faith Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Marcella was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Sparks. Marcella is survived by her husband, Ervin “Dean” Sparks whom she married December 24, 1965 in Lucasville. She also survived by a son, Tony (Donna) Hubbard; a daughter, Patty (Marty) Staker; two brothers, Vernon Smith and Von Smith; three grandchildren, Katzlyn (Nick) Daniels, Toni (Ben) Gill and Meghan (Brad) Schmidt and eight great grandchildren, Maddie & Brady Gill, Kinsley & Kallie Daniels, Marlee Staker and Rowan, Anderson and Autum Schmidt.
Services for Marcella will be 1:00 pm Monday, March 17, 2025 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Bryan White officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.

Marcella will be missed by all, including my boys (James & Nick) who considered her another grandparent, while referring to her as Mamaw. Hugs and love to our Ohio family.
