Helen Lou Wesney, 93, of Wheelersburg, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Concord Nursing & Rehab in Wheelersburg. She was born December 19, 2025 in Waterloo, Lawrence County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Glen and Rosa (Stewart) Wiseman. She was a child care provider and attended Wheelersburg Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Richard E. Wesney; three sons, Gregory D. Wesney, Paul R. Wesney, Jon T. (Michelle) Wesney; one daughter, Amy Defoe; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four sisters, Phyllis Wiseman, Sue Ruff, Margaret Ashworth, Mary Keys, and one sister-in-law, Joyce Wiseman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Wiseman; one son-in-law, David Defoe, and a daughter-in-law, Greg’s wife, Sue Wesney.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Wheelersburg Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Bratka and Ralph Clay officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at Wheelersburg Methodist Church from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
