Allard (Hap) Lawson, 94, of Wheelersburg, OH, passed away Friday, November 6, 2026 peacefully at his home. He was born February 2, 1932, in South Webster, OH to the late Oather and Sylvia (Young) Lawson. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother who raised him, Ollie (Potts) Lawson, his first wife Dottie (Ruark) Lawson, his second wife Juanita (Adkins) Lawson, his dear friend Loretta McClure, eleven siblings: Woodrow (Katherine) Lawson, Jewel (Bob) Williams, Evelyn (Vernon) Hazelbaker, Louise (John) Walters, Thacker (Virginia) Lawson, Bernie (Doris) Lawson, Vernie Lawson, Maynard (Clara) Lawson, Virginia (Trelie) Crabtree, Oliver (Erika) Lawson and Gene (Tommie) Lawson, “daughters” who he gained when he married his second wife Juanita: Barbara (Arnold) Underwood, Susan (Jack) McCleese, Carla (Larry) Burris, and a grandson Zachary Willis. Those who are left to continue celebrating his life and the memories he made with them are: his daughters, Tammy (Fred) Nelson, Tammy (Tom) Oakley, grandchildren Michael (Kelsey) Nelson, Amy Nelson, Josh (Amanda) Underwood, Jason (Catherine) Underwood, Will McCleese, Deanna (Michael) Baldoni, Jenny (Bill) Neiser, Zane (Kylie) Willis, several nieces and nephews and 18 great grandchildren. His childhood nickname stayed with him for the duration of his life. The name “Hap” was given to him when he was a child because he was always a happy boy. He displayed his name throughout his life with a smile and caring heart. He lived and loved “Big”. He left a legacy of kindness and thoughtfulness for others, and his family will continue to strive to follow his gentle, caring footsteps. He will be missed so very much but left each of us with a full heart knowing that we were loved and cherished until his last breath. Visitation and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th, 2026, at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home, 11623 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, OH. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm. A Masonic service will take place at 7:00 pm, a Veteran’s service after and the funeral will be directly following the Veteran service.
