Robert Lee Taylor Sr., 55, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, following a long battle with cancer.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Charles Taylor; his stepfather Arnold Taylor; his mother, Betty Taylor; and three brothers, John Taylor, Lawrence Taylor, and Glenn Taylor
Robert is survived by his longtime life partner, Ruth Blair, who lovingly stood by his side and took excellent care of him throughout his illness, three siblings Kathy Furner, Sharon Holloway, Charlie Taylor and two special cousins, David Stanley and Diana Cook. Five children Robert Taylor Jr. (Amanda Mays), Ashley Taylor (Steven Collins), Brittany (Anthony) Mays, Justin Taylor, and baby girl Jessica (Zachary) Miller and 15 grandchildren: Alex, Wyatt, Carter, Aiden, Lily, Caroline, Zandrea, Kiley, Jordan, Brooks, Lainey, Amirria, Fancy, Nicholai, and Elijah.
Robert was a loving father, grandfather, life partner, brother, and friend. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, listening to music, and spending time with his family. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He loved playing with his grandchildren, making them laugh, and making sure they always had plenty of candy. The memories he made with them will be cherished forever.
A viewing and service will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at:
