For those who didnt know Carlos he was a great man...always there to lend an ear and to chat with you when you were down. He had a constant smile on his face and never a bad word towards anyone. On a personal note i went through some tough times in my life and Carlos was always there to listen whether it be on the net or on the phone i could always count on "LOS" to be there and give some advice. I grew to love Carlos like a brother and even though we lost touch for a few years whenever i would get in a tough situation i would always picture LOS saying ...Greg keep your chin up dog!!! He was always good to my family as well always take time out to say hello to my mom and sister and im sure they will miss him too .......LOS YOU WILL BE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS FOREVER AND SAVE ME A SPOT CAUSE I WILL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE BRO!!!!! R.I.P LOS

Carlos was a friend to everyone. He never met a stranger. Always offering and willing to take the staff and patients on the elevator whenever he would see someone waiting. He had time for all!! His kind gestures and smiling face will be missed greatly. God Bless his family.

My husband and I both work at SMMC and we both dearly loved Carlos. He was always so positive, kind, caring and considerate. He is missed each time the trays arrive to the floor and it is not Carlos that is pushing the cart. Deepest sympathy to the family for such a great loss!! He is missed by so much of the entire hospital. Carlos was NEVER too busy to give someone a ride up on the elevator. He truly went way beyond the cafeteria. Such a great loss. Carlos was truly a loved person. God Bless Carlos and his entire family..

I am an operating room R.N. at St. Mary's, and although I didn't know Carlos personally, I will remember him for always taking the time to say "hello" or "good morning" as we passed one another. It seemed every morning I worked, I would pass him in the hallway as I went to grab breakfast. I will miss seeing him. God Bless Carlos and your family.

I am the day shift cook at St.Marys and had been a friend and co-worker of Carlos for almost three years. I am going to miss Carlos coming in the morning time and greeting me by saying "How's my friend Tim the singing chef.Carlos and I would sometimes sing together,he would sing a Charlie Pride song called Kiss an Angel Good Morning and I would try to sing a George Jones tune.He had always made me feel so good whenever he would come back from his lunch break he would compliment on the entree that he had that day which I had prepared. The world needs more people like Carlos Alicea, then maybe there would be peace and no more wars.I will close now by saying Carlos my friend bye for now but i'll meet you on the other side someday.

Carlos was a dear friend and co-worker. I miss him very much and can't believe that he is really gone. Whenever I needed him to do something for me, all I needed to do is ask and if he could, he would. I really appreciated that. He always asked about my husband and said how much he liked him. That was much appreciated, too. He was a good man and I know that he is missed by all who knew him. My condolences and prayers are with his family. Clova Harris

I am so sorry to hear about Carlos. I was an x-ray tech at St. Mary's for several years, and I would enjoy talking to Carlos in the elevator. He would always let me catch a ride up with him, as he was using the elevator for trays. He would always tell me about an upcoming Marshall game or something. He would always ask me where I was headed, and if I would say up to visit family or something, he would always ask how they were doing next time that I saw him. It saddens me deeply, to hear of this. My prayers are with you.

Carlos will be sadly missed. He was one of the nicest, sweetest people I have ever had the privelage of knowing. We met 7 years ago on the internet and attended several picnics together. He was always there to lend a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. Carlos was the first person to try and cheer you up when you were down. We are all better people for having the chance to call him "Friend". May he rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss, I am a past employee at St. Mary's, Carlos was a very special person, he was always smiling and I enjoyed talking with him daily when he brought the trays up to the floor. His great love for Marshall football will stick out in my mind, I hate that he will not see the movie WE ARE Marshall, the last time I spoke with him he had went down to the filming and was so excited about the release of the movie. I will never forget his loving spirit.

Carlos will be missed by everyone who knew him at St. Mary's. His smile and loving spirit was contagious! You had to love him! My heart already grieves to know that his spirit will no longer grace the halls of SMMC. When I worked in Food Service as the Secretary Carlos and I would always find time to talk about the Lord. He knew the Lord well and I know he has entered heavens gates where his BELOVED mother, father, and grandmother met him with open arms. He grieved so badly after they passed away and we would always talk about the HOMECOMING day when we would see them again. He loved the Lord with all of his heart and made that clear to everyone who knew him. Family---I pray that God will keep you ever near to HIM as you go through this difficult time. May it confort you to know that "to be absent from the body is to be PRESENT with the Lord". My friend Carlos is now PRESENT with the Lord and is awaiting the arrival of the rest of his friends and family. I can't wait to see him again. How about you?

Carlos was very kind and caring. He would stop the elevator and take the nurse and heart patients back to their units instead of making us wait. He always had a kind word and smile. He will be missed by all the employees at St. Mary's Medical Center. May God be with you in your time of sorrow.

My thoughts and prayers are with Carlos's family and friends. I would run into Carlos while visiting my father during his cancer treatment at St. Mary's and Carlos always made a point of coming over and saying "hello". I know he will be missed by his family and friends.
