1942 - 2006
Mary Adelaide Taylor Coulverson, longtime resident of Columbus, Ohio, passed quickly into the arms of her Lord on August 5, 2006 in her hometown of Huntington, West Virginia.
Mary was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on May 19,1942 to the union of Andrew Roosevelt and Dorthula Johnson Taylor. Mrs. Coulverson received her primary and secondary education in Huntington, West Virginia at Barnett Elementary and Douglass High Schools. After attending Marshall University, where she was very active in the Drama Society, Mary received her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the mid-1960s. She worked at St. Mary's and Cabell-Huntington Hospitals in Huntington. In 1967, she relocated to Columbus, Ohio where she worked at several hospitals, including Ohio State University Hospital and Children's Hospital and several years as a private duty nurse for several families. Mary also worked for some time in the criminal justice system at Alvis House assisting ex-felons transition back into society and held several management positions at the Mount Vernon Plaza housing units in Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and leaves to mourn her passing three children: Laurie Mercedes-Thompson of Columbus, Ohio; Patrick D. (Wanda) Hall of Houston, Texas; Jon E. (Shearil) Hall of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Maria Mercedes and Aaron Mercedes of Columbus, Ohio, Yonna Hall and Taylor Hall of San Antonio, Texas, and Allante Hall of Ft. Worth, Texas; sister Helen T. Allen of Houston, Texas; nephew John R. (Esther) Allen of Houston, Texas; and nieces Michelle, Anel, Helen and Melissa Allen of Houston, Texas, and a host of friends. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1693 Ninth Avenue in Huntington and at noon on Friday at Central Seventh-day Adventist, 80 South 18th Street in Columbus with Dr. Alfred Booker, Sr. of Columbus, Ohio, officiating both services.

I just heard the news, I am lost for words. So that you know who I am, I lived across the street from your Grandmthr. Your mother an my mother were best friends. Mrs. Sarah Ann Mabry. Pokey, I left Hungtington in 1979, I now resided in (Rex, Ga). Plz give me a call at (404)587 0724.. I've walked in your shoes in 1983. With God help it gets better. I now hear my mother coming out me, when I am chestizing my children.

Laurie I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother but you know that you know GOD is a comforter if you need me call me or just send me an email. Love you much but mosto f all I love you in the name of JEUS and there is nothing you can do about that.
