My heart is heavy laden for the family of Jimmie Boyd. As I didn't know him personally, I know his brother, Captain Julius Boyd who I have had the pleasure of knowing for almost 4 years. Please know that my prayers are with the Boyd family. Though his passing was unexpected, please know that the Lord saw fit to call home Brother Jimmie for eternal rest. He is in a far better place as, I hope to rest peacefully once the Lord see fit for me to.

Mrs. Boyd, I want to send my condolences on the loss of your son. When I heard the news that he passed away, I felt a pain in my heart. I met Jimbo in 1997 when I started school at Marshall University. Jimbo showed me that Huntington was a good place to live. I stayed in touch with him regularly until I moved away two years ago. I want you to know that your son was a great man. He didn't know a stranger. I was blessed to have known him. You and your family will be in my prayers. Sincerely, Crystal Foster Jones Beckley, WV

We send our deepest sympathy to the Boyd family. We had the pleasure of knowing Jimbo through the Jaycees. He was a wonderful man who would light up the room the minute he walked in. I'm positive he's lighting up Heaven right now. Blessings to all of you.

Jimbo Boyd was a bright spot in everybody's day. His voice carried above everything around him. There are few students who have attended MU in the past 8 years who have not had a positive impact from meeting Jimbo. WE are all blessed to have known Jimbo. His spirit will always be with us.

To the family of Jimbo: I can not even begin to understand the depth of affect this has had on all of you. Those of us in the Marshall University community that knew Jimbo knew him as a wonderful man with a heart that was larger than life. I don't remember ever seeing him without a smile on his face. He never met a stranger. There were many times he and my friends and I would sit and talk about football or his fraternity and those times will forever be cherished. He was a loving soul who will be greatly missed. He touched the lives of everyone that knew him. God has a strong soldier up there by his side now. My condolences to you, his wonderful family, who made him the person he was and forever will be.

Lee and family, We are so sorry for your loss. We have known Skillet (as he introduced himself to us) since 95' when we all worked at the Mad Hatter and hung out and had our cookouts. Skillet was a great friend to us and we will never forget his laugh and friendship. I just talked to him for about an hour a few weeks ago and am glad that the Lord granted me that time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Boyd Family, I attended Marshall at the same time Jimbo did. Everytime I saw him he had a big smile on his face and always greeted me with kind words. I remember being so exited when he was chosen Mr. Marshall, because he truly was MR. MARSHALL. His daily acts as a gentleman will be cherished. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely, Deborah Goheen
