Martha Jean Osborn Thomas Johnson Garrett was born July 3, 1936 to the late Charles Clifton Osborn and Mary Ellen Bacon Osborn in Princeton, Kentucky. Jean was preceded in death by one brother Charles W. Osborn.

Jean as most knew her, grew up in Cadiz, Kentucky and was a graduate of Attucks High School in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Jean later attended Huntington Barber College and graduated as a Master Barber. She retired in 1995 after 20 years in the profession.

Jean was an active member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. At Calvary she served as Trustee Chairperson, choir member and organized the Christian Performing Artist Group. Jean was creative and loved art. She was a professional artist, a member of the Tri-State Arts Association and received many awards for her paintings. She also served four years as a volunteer at St. Marys Medical Center.

Jean married the late Cvell Thomas and moved to Ironton, Ohio. From this marriage three children survive: Bruce D. Thomas, Matthew C. Thomas (Wife Amanda) of Ironton, Ohio and TaFrinda Thomas Bates of Proctorville, Ohio. Jean married James Johnson who passed in 1989. Mr. Billy L. Garrett, Sr. and Jean were married in 1995. She leaves behind Mr. Garrett, two step sons; Billy L. Garrett, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, Curtis Garrett of Atlanta, Georgia, 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be 12:00Noon Saturday at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Franklin Murphy, Sr officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, ohio. Friends may call from 6-8:00Pm Friday at the church.

To the Family of Rashaun Harless, I extend my heartfelt condolences realizing that words could never convey enough to soothe what you are experiencing at this time. My prayers are with you all and I commend you to God in this challenging moment. God is going to see you through, never lose sight of that. "Look to the Hills from whence cometh your help, knowing that your help continuously comes from the Lord. God grant you peace, keeping you always in his love and care.

sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family. ms.jean was a great friend to me and my family for many, many years. she gave my sons their first haircuts 20 years ago and i still have it on video. she was a wonderful muti-talented person. prayers and thoughts are with the family
