Louise Poplin Smith 83 of Jasper, TX. died Friday December 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 2:00 p.m. December 17, 2011 at Forest Oaks Chapel with interment to follow at the Ford Cemetery in Newton, TX. Family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Forest Oaks on Friday evening. A native of Tenaha, TX. she moved to Jasper in 1983 from Newton, TX. Survivors include a son Christopher and wife Elizabeth Smith of Jasper, TX. daughters Jackie and husband Bob Smith and Betty Jo Frusha all of Jasper, TX. Three grandchildren Gary, Craig and Tabitha. Great grandchildren Emily, Laura, Andrew and Amanda. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years Jack Smith and two sons Curtis and Elton. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Church of Christ Youth Fund. Condolences can be posted at www.forestoaksofjasper.com

I know Gunny was very important to all of you, and she held a special place in my heart by opening her home to me any time I came to Jasper. I know she will be greatly missed, but is being welcomed in Heaven!
