Robert Gardner Payne, 86, of Rayburn Country died on January 14, 2012 at his residence. He was born on March 12, 1925 in Columbus, Mississippi and was a retired chemical engineer. He had lived in Rayburn Country since 1984. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Payne of Rayburn Country and his daughter Margurite Robichaux of Stratton, Maine. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Rayburn United Methodist Church.
