Francis Champagne 87 of Brookeland, TX. died at the Medical Center of South East Texas in Port Arthur on Friday March 16, 2012. A Rosary service will be held at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper, TX. on Sunday March 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Family will greet friends on Saturday March 17, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A private burial will be held on Monday at the St.Bernard Cemetery in Breaux Bridge, LA. A native of St. Martin Parish he was a World War II veteran having served in the US Army. A longtime resident of the Port Arthur-Groves area, he was retired from Texaco as a Boilermaker. He moved to Brookeland, and has resided in Sabine County for the past 28 years. Survivors include a brother Jean Champagne of Brookeland, TX. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
