Bob, Gary, Craig, and family, we were so sorry to read about Jackie. Will miss seeing her at the Pawnshop. She was always nice and friendly when we came in.
Bob, you have had a wonderful, long marriage and have a wonderful family with Jackie. Always keep that in your mind as you struggle to go through each day. You will cry and laugh at the same time remembering the good times. God bless you and keep you in the palm of his hand to comfort you during this sorrowful time. The hurting in your heart will ease with time, and the wonderful memories will take their place.

Bob, I send my love and prayers and condolences to you and all the family. She was ALWAYS such a lovely person, a true friend and a woman who loved her family. I am sorry I didn't know she was ill. She is walking on streets of gold now with Jesus and never to have any pain or illness again. You and Jackie were a rare example in this day and time of two people who fell in love at such a young age and remained in love ALL these years. God be with you!

Jackie Louise Smith 64 of Jasper died at her home on Wednesday May 9, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 12, 2012 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper, TX. with interment to follow at the Ford Cemetery in Newton, TX. Family members will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A native of Jasper, TX. she graduated from Newton High School in 1965 and went to college at Sam Houston, the University of Alaska and Graduated from Lamar with a B.S. in Elementary Education and received a Masters Degree from Stephen F. Austin. Jackie was a teacher at First Baptist Church in Jasper, TX. and a teacher at Parnell Elementary before she and Bob opened Bob'S Pawn Shop with locations in Newton and Woodville where she was a co owner,bookkeeper and operator. Preceded in death by parents Jack and Louise Smith and brother Curtis and Elton Smith. Survivors include a husband Robert D. "Bob" Smith Sons Gary and wife Kristin Smith and Craig and wife Melissa Smith a Brother Christopher and wife Beth all of Jasper, TX. Sister Betty Jo Frusha of Jasper, TX. Grandchildren Emily, Laura, Andrew and Amanda. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the Church of Christ 1830 S. Wheeler Jasper, TX.
