
Clifford Gerald Adkins, 74, of Kenova died peacefully at home on March 10, 2023. Clifford was born on January 20, 1949, to Moses and Ernestine Adkins in Huntington, WV. After finishing high school, Clifford joined the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and deployed to Vietnam. In 1969, Clifford returned home finishing his service, when he met Geneva Patricia Davis, leading to their marriage in 1971. In 1973 Clifford reenlisted, joining the United States Navy to become a Seabee, later leaving the service with an honorable discharge. Mr. and Mrs. Adkins went on to have three children Sheila Kay Adkins, Matthew James Adkins and Mitchell Joseph Adkins. Clifford was preceded in death by his wife Geneva, his parents Moses and Ernestine Adkins, his sister Josephine, his brother Everett, his sister Odamae O’Dell, his brother Simon Adkins, his brother Richard Adkins and his granddaughter Roxanna Adkins. He is survived by his sister Wilma Jean Bryant, his daughter Shelia Kay Adkins, his son Matthew James Adkins, his son Mitchell Joseph Adkins, his grandson Austin (Heidi) Vickers and his great grandson Ryker, his grandson Timothy (Sarah) Wagner, his granddaughter Courtney Madison Adkins and his great grandchildren, Brentley, Mason, and Neveah, his grandson Lee (Katelynn) Hubbard and his great grandson Jaxson, his grandson Dalton Hubbard, his grandson Matthew Adkins II. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 12 noon Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Minister Danny Evans with entombment to follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park on Route 60 in Huntington.
