New Lexington, Ohio - EDSEL EDWIN WALLACE, 80 passed away on May 20, 2023 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio Hospice Unit. He was born August 21, 1942, in Milton, W.Va., the son of the late Culvy Ivan Sr. and Alberta (Villars) Wallace.
Edsel graduated from Milton High School with the Class of 1961, following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper during the Viet Nam Era. He married his late wife, Linda L. (Birch) Wallace on June 15, 1968. They were blessed with four children, Mark, Kevin, Kimberly and Eric.
Edsel loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was very proud them all and always took every chance he had to brag about them. Other than spending time with his family, he enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching old westerns and being outdoors mowing.
In addition to his parents and late wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Vernon, Ivan, Leonard, Gene, Carlyle (Corkey) and Darrell, and two sisters Reva (Wallace) Wood and Roberta Wallace.
Surviving is his three sons, Mark of New Lexington, Ohio, Kevin (Shelly) Wallace of East Orland, Maine, Eric (Melissa) Wallace of Walnut Cove, North Carolina, and one daughter, Kimberly (Mike) Hyme of Amanda, Ohio.
Edsel had six grandchildren, Cody, Cynthia, Breanna, Gracie, Meagan and Corey and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is three brothers, Leon (Wanda) Wallace of Emmett, Idaho. Robert (Kay) Wallace of Columbus, Ohio and Larry Wallace of Milton, W.Va., four sisters, Louise Womack of Zanesville, Ohio, Maxine Chapman of Marion, Ohio, Shirley Mount of Gary, IN, and Karla (David) Woodrum of Rockbridge, Ohio, and over 200 nieces and nephews including greats.
Services will be handled by Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, W.Va. and Edsel will be laid to rest beside his late wife Linda at Milton Cemetery in the Wallace Family Plot.
