Wow. This news hit me hard. I just found out today. Living out of town does not lend itself easily to staying in touch regularly. Let me first say to the family that we are so sorry for your loss. Gene Gue was and will always be an important man in my life. He is family of course, but he was always a meaningful leader in Christ. His love and commitment to the Lord and to Mt. Zion Church will always be important to me and my family. I hold so many precious memories of Mt. Zion in my heart. Gene and my Dad were cousins, friends, and brothers in Christ. Mom told me of his passing today. The first thing I did was check to see if I could come home to his funeral. I am so sorry to not have been there to share in his passing. With much love and respect in my heart (our hearts) we feel this loss deeply. Heaven gains a wonderful servant of the Lord.

To All of Gene’s Loved Ones: It is difficult to express what Gene meant to me in my Christian life. He was such a good person - the best of the best. For the period of time he was choir leader at Mt. Zion, he was always pleasant and easy to work with. He always wore a smile fir everyone. I simply cannot say enough good things about him. David Lee Thompson
