Joyce Delaine Bartram Jones Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1950 - 2024

Joyce Delaine Bartram JonesIn loving memory of Joyce Delaine (Bartram) Jones, 73, who peacefully departed this world on March 13, 2024. Born August 21, 1950 in Huntington, WV to the late Leonard and Ella Bartram and sister to Nova Alberts, Ray Bartram, Susie Bias, and the late Randy Bartram. Joyce was also raised by her adoring grandparents, Wesley and Minerva Bartram. Joyce was the light of their lives and their love and guidance shaped her into the compassionate soul we knew and cherished.

As a mother to Kimberly, Kevin, Jason, and Sarah Jones, Joyce epitomized unconditional love and unwavering support (and boy did we put her to the test at times). We could always count on her to kiss our boo boo’s, make us laugh, or say, “You’re not really going to wear that, are you?” Although we can’t imagine our lives without her guidance, we take comfort in knowing that she is now with our Jason in Heaven and can only imagine the sweet reunion they had when she got there.

In her mid-30s, Joyce embarked on a remarkable journey of reinvention. A newly divorced stay at home mother of four, she went back to school and became an EMT. With grit and determination, she forged her own path as the owner of Lifeline Medical Transport for nearly 20 years, growing the company from two transport vans to a fleet of emergency ambulances. Through Lifeline, Joyce not only provided essential services to the Tri-State, but also nurtured a family of EMT’s and Paramedics, giving many of them a start in their EMS careers. Always there to listen and offer support, laughter or her (blunt) advice, Joyce’s office was a favorite hangout of her employees. Beyond her role as owner, Joyce's heart overflowed with compassion, often providing free transport services to those in need.

Joyce was not only a beloved mother but also a cherished “Nanny” to grandsons Jordan, Kristian, Colin, Jayden and Wesley Jones and great-granddaughter, Violet, whom she loved and adored. Though the void left by her passing is immeasurable, her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience will live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for April 6th. Details will be provided on Facebook by the family.
