Dorothy Jane Grose-Lester, 85, of Milton, went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2024. Beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, Mamaw Dort, Great and Great-Great-Mamaw. She was born April 30, 1938 to the late Melva Winson and Sarah Frances Qualls-Jenkins. She was the sixth of eleven children and loved her Lord and Savior. She spent many years working at Milton and Culloden Elementary as a school cook. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Raymond Ray Grose; her second husband, Ranson Lester; daughter, Tammy Denise Grose; two brothers, Ervie Winson and Erskin Jenkins; and two sisters, Shirley Baldwin and Mildred Bailey. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Gerald) Clagg; two sons, Danny (Linda) Grose and Kent (Alecia) Grose; seven grandkids, Penny (Shawn) Lundsford, Kimberly Grose, Gerrad Young, Billy Ray Gillenwater, Johnda, Siera and Dusty Grose; seventeen great-grandkids; two great-great grandkids and other loving step grandkids, step-great-grandkids, and step great-great-grandkids; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor James Jobe. Burial will be in Barker Ridge Cemetery.
