Joretta Ann Carr, 84, of Culloden, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born May 3, 1940 in Culloden, W.Va., a daughter of the late, Lawrence and Hazel Sowards. She is also preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Carr; one brother, Billy Jack Hager and one sister, Debbie Brewer. She is survived by her sons, Timothy Carr (Joan), Samuel Carr (Mary), Scott Carr and Charlie Shaikov; two brothers, Barry Hager and Jeff Sowards; four grandchildren, Samantha Gibbs (Richard), Brittany Carr (Mohammed), David Carr (Kelsey) and Michael Carr (Laura); and four great-grandchildren, Abigayle Gibbs, Delilah Gibbs, Oliver Carr and Emilee Carr. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Ron Brewer officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
