Genevieve C. Smith, 97, of Ona, passed away June 11, 2024. She was born April 5, 1927, in Huntington, WV, daughter of the late Maxwell B. Carson and Elsia M. Clark Carson. She was also preceded in death by her husband William Brett Smith and brothers Rex Carson (Lillian), Donavan Carson (Ruth), and Billy Carson (Monalee). She is survived by her daughter Brenda Lea Smith Ketner; three grandchildren Tyara Hughes (Chris), Tonya Rogers (Jason), and Tabitha Foster (Bobby); fourteen great grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and one great-great-great grandson on the way; several nieces and nephews; special friends and care givers Della and Denise Gibson. The family would also like to thank Lincoln Health Care Center for their loving care. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m Monday, June 17, 2024, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Gordon Rutherford. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
