Joe Michael “Mike” Fincham, 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Lesage on Sunday, July 14, 2024. He was born to Joseph “Joe” Fincham and Verna (Lewis) Fincham in his hometown of Milton, WV, on March 19, 1949. After graduating from Milton High School, he was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War, serving as a trumpet player in the army band and for funeral details in Appalachia. He spent most of his career as a disc jockey for radio stations throughout the country, with most of his career at various stations throughout the Huntington-Charleston area. He later served as a government worker before retiring for health reasons.
Mike is predeceased by his parents, one sister (Pat Hardman), and many beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins. He is survived by his wife, Lola (Hodge) Fincham, who loved and cared for him for forty years to his final day. He is also survived by his beloved aunt (Betty Leadmon), two daughters (Melissa Trimble and Leila Eves), three sons (Jack McComas, Jason McComas, and Joe Fincham II), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives by blood, marriage, and friendship.
A memorial service to celebrate Mike’s life is scheduled for Friday, July 19, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at his home church, Living Hope Bible Church (5722 Stiles Drive, Huntington).
