Bettie Joyce Anderson, at the age of 87, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 25, 2011. Bettie, a faithful Christian, belonged to the Methodist Church most of her life. She was born on December 02, 1923 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Cecil and Gladys Robinson Zimmerman. She moved to Oklahoma with her mother and graduated from Dover Oklahoma High School in 1941. Bettie married WWII Army veteran Clifton G. Anderson in August, 1946 and they settled in Austwell, Texas where they lived until 1985. They then moved to Dover, Arkansas to be close to their son and grandchildren. Bettie lived for a short time in Wisconsin before moving to Kerrville, Texas in 2006. While living in Austwell, Bettie worked as city secretary, substitute teacher, and for the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. After retiring, she volunteered as a mentor to children and adults who had difficulty learning to read. She loved big band music and nature; believing that the beauty of nature provided the way for our children to see God's work and His love. She had a great sense of humor and was loved by everyone who knew her. Bettie was a loving Mom. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Gladys Zimmerman and husband Clifton G. Anderson.

Bettie is survived by her son, Craig Anderson and his wife Debbie of Kerrville, Texas; three grandchildren, Bonnie Lippard, Clint Anderson, and Kelly Anderson and many other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her.

Burial will take place in Dover, Arkansas on Wednesday, March 02, 2011 at the McFadden Cemetery.

Memorial services will be held at 10am, Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Sterling House in Kerrville, Texas.
