Charles Edward Cook at the age of 55 passed away on Tuesday, October 04, 2011 at his home in Kerrville Texas. He was born on December 16, 1955 in Harahan, LA to Fred and Evelyn "Bixler" Cook. Charlie served in the U.S. Army from 1974 until 1977 in the 1st. Cav Division of Ft. Hood. He worked in Shipping & Receiving at various business most of his life. Charlie married Sandra Shields on May 01, 1993 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was a proud member of the US Army Disabled Vietnam Veterans. Charlie loved his family very much and was AKA 3/4 Dad. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred & Evelyn Cook of Gulfport, MS and brother David Cook of Biloxi, MS.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Sandra "Sam" Cook of Slidell, LA; 3 children of his heart Jessica L Howell and husband Jerry of Magnolia, TX., Louis J. Desselle of Slidell, LA., and Rachel E Pingel and husband Jason; 6 Grandchildren Devon Desselle, Elizabeth Gholson, Trenton Gholson, Meghan Pingel, Heide Pingel and Lauren Pingel; 5 brothers Jimmy Cook and wife Darlene of Ocean Springs, MS., Ronald Cook and wife Nancy of Granbury, TX., Dean Cook and wife Rhonda of Biloxi, MS., Paul Cook and wife Teresa of Pensacola, FL, and Robert Cook and wife Susan of Devine, TX.; 3 sisters Judy Gaston and husband Mike of Kerrville, TX., Arlene Lobianco and husband Freddie of Millington, TN., and Joyce Stelly and husband Stephen of Escondido, CA.; mother-in-law Elizabeth (Betty) R. Shields of Slidell, LA.; in-laws Marsha Craft and husband Jerry of Huntsville, AL., John G. Shields Jr and wife Terri of Baton Rouge, LA., Sabrina Sharp and husband Ralph of Slidell, LA., Linda Harper and husband Bob of Spring, TX., and Ross Shields of Slidell, LA. and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who loved him and will miss him.

Private services will be held.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Equipment Fund at the Kerr County Sheriffs Department.
