The sun rose on the tiny island of Trinidad, West Indies on January 15, 1927. Una Whiskey Sween (affectionately known by her sisters as Sweeney and Ma Sween) was born to the late Ancilla and Willis Whiskey.

Una Sween lived a good and loved life until she was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2011. She accepted Christ at an early age and placed Him above all else in her life. She knew the power of prayer and trusted that  through Christ all things are possible. She was a woman of great Faith.

Although she herself had a sixth grade education, she knew that prayer and education were important in life. Thus she moved her family to the United States to ensure that her children would take advantage of the educational opportunities this country afforded  ACCOMPLISHED! There was no doubt that higher learning was a must.

A very faithful and active member of Burnett Chapel United Methodist Church, Kerrville Texas Active also in her community and a member of the local Red Hats Society (I am going to lunch with the ladies). She also attended Progressive Missionary Baptist Church while visiting in San Antonio Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ancilla and Willis. Grandparents Dolly and Sylvester, her late spouse Francis, Brothers: Garthorne, Emmanuel, Knolly, and Neville. Nephews: Andre Martyn and Dave Martyn.

She leaves behind to honor her memory daughters Valerie and Lesley-Ann, her beloved grand-daughter Delani (Baby Girl) with whom she shared a special and spiritual bound. Her sisters: Sylvia, Norma (KB), Claudette, and Lorna. Niece: Linda, Marcia, Sandra, Debbie, Jennifer. God daughters: Margo and Esleen. Nephews: Louis, Sean, Kyle, Joseph, Roger, Christian and Gervase. Her children that affectionately loved and called her The Grandmother or. A vast host of cherished loved ones, family and friends

She Loved The Lord And Is At Peace.
