KRUEGER, Sylvester I. Sly

Sylvester Ignatius Sly Krueger age 86 of Decatur passed away Sunday September 13, 2009 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Sylvester was born May 11, 1923 in Cicero, IL, the son of Ignatius and Helen (Witkowski) Krueger. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army. He came to Decatur in 1950 where he has farmed for several years. Sly was a lifetime member of the Decatur VFW Post #6248. Survivors include a son Gary (Nancy) of Decatur; two granddaughters, Ashley and Abbey of Decatur; 3 brothers, Ignatius of Decatur, Arthur (Kay) of Green Bay, WI and Robert (Marcia) of Decatur; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline, his parents and a brother, Stanley. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday (9/17) at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, James Abshagen officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Disabled American Veterans.
