SHERBURN, Dale L.
Paw Paw
Dale passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 10, 2009 at his home. He was born October 4, 1936 in Kalamazoo, the son of William and Areita (Jones) Sherburn. Dale was a U.S. Army Paratrooper during the Korean War. He was employed by Globe Road Construction and then at Western Michigan University, retiring in 2002. On July 6, 1956 in Paw Paw, Dale was united in marriage to Laurel Lea Willsea who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Dale (Vada) Sherburn of Lawton, Kevin (Nina) Sherburn of Springhill, TN, and Tracie Sherburn of Portage; 5 grandchildren, Shelli (Mark) Candey of Kalamazoo, Tracy (Dan) Abbott of Bangor; Cindy (Eric) Crawford of Vicksburg, Sarah Sherburn of Chicago and Keith Sherburn of Norman, OK; 7 great grandchildren; Lindsey, Griffin, Nickolas and Taylor Candey, Kayla and Kyle Carter and Nik Abbott 1 great great grandson, Carter Chisholm; 12 siblings, Lucille Sherburn of Mattawan, Donna (Ray) Huddleston of Three Rivers, Gerald Sherburn of Mattawan, Charles (Mary) Sherburn of Paw Paw, Richard Sherburn of Lawton, Pat (Dave) Berner of Paw Paw, Sheron (Don) Saidla of Mattawan, Joyce (James) Dickerson of Battle Creek, Connie (Ron) Osborne of Mattawan, Judy Skidmore of Columbia, SC, Pam (Roger) Beadle of Mattawan and Gary (Diane) Sherburn of Schoolcraft; 5 sisters-in-law, Freida Amos of Gobles, Wealthy Willsea of Paw Paw, Jane Willsea of Valparaiso, IN, Peg Willsea of Gobles, and Ruth Willsea of Paw Paw, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill. Family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Spackman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Paw Paw United Methodist Church, West Michigan Cancer Center, Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the Maple City Veterans Memorial Park. |

Just wanted to say how special it was to spend a brief amount of time with all of you today. The pictures were a fine tribute to the family you have. Extra nice to have been able to see and chat with Dale and Kevin. Sorry we cannot be with you tomorrow at the celebration of Dale's life.
