Guntis passed away Friday afternoon, November 6, 2009 at his home. He was born September 6, 1942 in Jelgava, Latvia the son of the late Augusts and Lidija Gothards. After moving to the United States he became a U.S. Citizen on June 25, 1962 and was a graduate of Grand Rapids Central High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a graduate of the Kendall School of Advertising Design. He was employed at the Root Spring and Scraper Company retiring in September of 2007. He enjoyed classical music, photography, sketching, painting and working in the yard. On November 27, 1969 in Newaygo, MI he was united in marriage to Leslie R. Morgan who survives. There will be no visitation or service as cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.

Leslie, I'am sorry for your loss, he was a very caring man and a wonderful friend. You are in my prayers and thoughts. Memories will go on forever through pictures of my family and the beautiful work he loved to do. Thank you. He will be greatly missed.
