Barbara A. Leonard Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1939 - 2009 Age: 70 LEONARD, Barbara A. Paw Paw Formerly of Lawton Barbara passed away Monday morning December 28, 2009 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. She was born April 15, 1939 in Highland Park, MI the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Madden) McChesney. Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Lawton High School and was employed as a secretary for Antwerp Township for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a voting poll worker at Antwerp Township during and after her retirement. Barbara was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Paw Paw-Lawton Chapter # 257 O.E.S. and enjoyed playing cards, shopping and cruises. On December 7, 1985 in Mattawan, Barbara was united in marriage to Mel Leonard who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Maher. Surviving are a daughter, Jodee (Bill) Shaw of Elkhart, IN; son, Rodney (Julie) Reid of Lawton; 5 grandchildren, Geoffrey Reid, Ryan Douglas, Ashley, Danielle and Megan Shaw; sisters, Glendia (Walter) McChesney Kennedy of Philadelphia, PA, Wanda Bigham Harmen of Waverly, TN dear cousin who was like a sister, Betty Firestone of Paw Paw; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Patti Haas officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo or West Michigan Cancer Center in Kalamazoo.
