Adele passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at Kairos Dwelling Home in Kalamazoo. She was born August 20, 1921 in Mattawan the daughter of the late Graham and Marilla (Hollis) Higley. She was a secretary for the superintendent of the Paw Paw Public Schools retiring in 1972. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw, worked as a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels in Bellaire, Michigan and enjoyed sewing, and reading. On January 1, 1942 in Mattawan, Adele was united in marriage to Kensel P. Giddings who preceded her in death on May 15, 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Eleda (Stanley) Zygadlo of Paw Paw; 2 grandchildren, Nicholas (Molly) Zygadlo of Kalamazoo and Carrie (Chad) Anderson of Williamston, MI; 4 great grandchildren. Private family services were held at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Interment followed in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Kairos Dwelling, Kalamazoo.
