Paw Paw
Diane passed away Saturday morning, January 9, 2010 at her home. She was born August 7, 1963 in Paw Paw. She was a 1981 graduate of Lawton High School and was employed as a secretary for Jim Shear Fruit Farm. While in school she worked for the American Red Cross in Paw Paw until the office moved to Hartford. She enjoyed dancing, acrobatics, gymnastics, bowling, reading, nature and animals, especially Harley and Fred. She loved being a Mom to her own children and all the children she knew. Surviving are her fiancé, Steve Dykgraaf of Paw Paw; daughter, Megan (Chris) LaCourse of Honor, MI; sons, Cole Slagal of Honor, MI, Mason Slagal of Paw Paw, Jeff Lasinski of Paw Paw, grandson, Cole Patrick Jr. of Honor, MI; parents, Irwin and Doris Barker of Lawton; sisters, Cheryl (Brad) Modderman of Lawton and Karen (Andy) Cole of Bangor; brothers, Christopher Burgett and Keith Burgett both of Lawton; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Florence Sunlin and Lynn and Ruth Barker. Family will receive friends Wednesday 4 to 6 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw followed by funeral services at 6 p.m. with Rev Isaac VerHage officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation, American Heart Assoc. or the Diabetes Association. |

I love angle in sky! Diane was very nice 2 me I miss it! I was so saddened to hear of Diane's passing. We graduated together from Lawton in 81 and I have many memories of Diane in high school. I will keep her family in my prayers.

Hi Chris and Keith, Karen and family so sorry to here about Diane,I havent seen her since I was going out with you Chris, you could pass people on the street and not even reconize them, I see Karen every year and glad to be able to visit with her, well just wanted to say that Iam thinking about you and I didnt relize that your mom was at Beckys getting her hair done when I was there sorry I didnt relize it was you.

I was shocked and very saddened to learn of Diane's passing. She was my best friend in high school and we had a lot of great times in good old Lawton. We lost touch after graduation but I did see her again in the 80's. I had the chance to meet Megan & Cole-they were just toddlers and cute as could be. My heart goes out to Diane's children, family and friends during this difficult time.
