WINDON, David J.
Of Mattawan
David passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in Mattawan. He was born August 20, 1949 in Kalamazoo, the son of James and Bernice (Beachum) Windon. He was employed by Ralph Moyle, Inc. as a truck driver and previously owned his own painting business, Windon Painting Company. He was a member of the Portage Eagles Club, the Paw Paw Conservation Club and was a volunteer for the Mattawan Fire Department also enjoying deer hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. On June 27, 1969 in Kalamazoo, David was united in marriage to Norma Taylor, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Christyn (Mark) Johnson of Oshtemo and James (Susan) Windon of Zeeland; 4 grandchildren, Luke and Ryan Johnson and David and Samuel Windon; 2 brothers, Robert (Debra) Windon of Schoolcraft and John (Arlene) Windon of Paw Paw; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, (247 W. Lovell, Kalamazoo), Fr. Jay Lawlor officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center or the National MS Society. |

Norma: My sincere sympathy to you and your family. I have fond memories of working with you and Dave as our children were in school, especially band...the trips, pot luck meals, fund raising. You were such supportive parents and willing workers. With the recent death of my husband, I realize the importance of support you will get from your faith in God, your family and friends. May the memories sustain you in the days ahead.
