John passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 11, 2010 at Bronson Nursing and Rehab Center in Lawton. He was born August 14, 1926 in Holt, MI the son of the late Roscoe and Norma (Schram) Kirvan. John was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy on three different Aircraft Carriers in the Pacific Theater as a radio operator. He was employed as a radio operator with the Michigan State Police for 34 years retiring in 1982. John was an avid sports fan, especially the Spartans, Lions and Tigers. On October 25, 1947 in Potterville John was united in marriage to Julia N. Keyes who preceded him in death in 1961. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Kirvan in 1993 and 2 brothers, Donald and Duane Kirvan; sister-in-law., Doris Kirvan. Surviving are a son, Trace (September) Kirvan of Paw Paw; 3 granddaughters, Ashley D. Kirvan, Holly A. Kirvan and Allisha Fadel; nieces and nephews, Denise (Steve) Smith, David (Norma) Kirvan, Carol Kirvan, Cathy Cox, Nancy (Mark) Schafer, Eric (Kelly) Kirvan; special in-laws, George and Pat Fadel of Paw Paw, Jeff (Sherry) Fadel and Jason Fadel. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-5 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Monday 11 a.m. with Rev. Dan Minor officiating. Interment will following in Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Paw Paw Public Library. Dear Trace & Dawn & girls, We are so sorry to hear about Uncle John. I will miss hearing his stories of the lake and all the fun he had up there, and I will miss sharing my birthday with him! He was a great guy and a great Uncle, and he will be missed! I'm so glad that you were able to have him with you for so long!

Trace, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was very special to me while we grew up. I really looked up to him and will miss him alot. My prayers go out to you an yours in this time of loss.

Trace & Dawn I was very sad to hear of Uncle John's deathe Yesterday, but glad I got to see him a few weeks ago.
