Formerly of Paw Paw

Naomi passed away unexpectedly Friday April 16, 2010 at her home. She was born January 8, 1927 in Arvilla, WV, the daughter of Cloyd and Mamie Wells.

Naomi received her degree in education from Western Michigan University and was a teacher at Hartford Public Schools. She also taught for Paw Paw Community Education, was treasurer for Womens Coterie Club of Paw Paw, was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw, also serving on several committees for the Lake Michigan Presbytery.

On October 20, 1951 in Grand Haven, Naomi was united in marriage to Carl T. Juk who preceded her in death November 12, 2008. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Wells. She is survived by 2 sons, Steven (Kristina) Juk of Shelbyville, TN and Paul Juk of St. Joseph; daughter, Lisa (Steve) Overacker of Spring Lake; foster daughter, Elaine Emmert of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren, Kristina (Jeff) Simpson, Daniel Juk, Sarah and Jill Overacker; foster grandson, Bryan Rodriquez; great grandchildren Gordon and Olivia Simpson; 4 siblings, Louise (Fred) Myland of Kalamazoo, Betty (Neal) Barnhart of New Cumberland, WV, Dean (Diana) Wells of Paw Paw and Lola Wells of Pittsburgh, PA.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday (4/19) at Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Committal services will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw, Pastor Tom Abbott officiating. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw.

I was on the Carnegie Board with Naomi for many years, I enjoyed working with her so many times on different projects. She had so many skills, plus the ability to keep us going. The times we shared will go into my memory box to be revisied for many years to come.

We live at Veits Landing and also are members of First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven where Naomi attended since 2007. Please accept our condolences in the loss of your wonderful Mother and Grandmother.

I remember Mrs. Juk very well.She was one of my favorite teachers.She challenged us all to do the best we could.I send my condolences to her family and friends.I will always remember her.
