Shirley was my other mom and she called me her daughter. I met her as my piano teacher about 40 years ago and fell instantly head over heals in love with her. I never saw our age difference for we were bound together by our hearts. She led me to the Lord and I believe saved my life. She had more unconditional love for others than anyone I've every known. Christ says he prepares a mansion for us and I believe hers is painted in roses. I will miss her terribly.

I was a home care nurse and visited Shirley's
foster care home many times over the years to care for patients. She gave awesome care and made her residents feel very loved. She had a big heart and will be greatly missed. Tonda Warner

I was taking care of Shirley for 5 years. I will miss her and I wish I could go back to that day. I would not of gone to the flee market I would of stayed at her house. I will hate myself for that day for the rest of my life.

Joe and family, your mom was a remarkable person, she gave her all to her clients and taught me alot about adult foster care. She was a great role person for me. I admired her for all the years she dedicated her life to care for the mentally ill and developmentally challenged. Shirley told me not everyone could do this job, but she loved it as I do. Shirley often told me of how proud she was of ALL her family and wished she had more time to spend with everyone.
My heart goes out to you and your family at this time of your loss.
Shirley, you will always be remembered and missed by us.

I have many memories of spending time at Aunt Shirley's house on the south end of town when I was a child. I especially remember the Collies! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I am thinking of you.
