POTTER, Maxwell E.

Paw Paw

Max went home to be with his Lord Sunday afternoon, April 25, 2010 at Bronson LakeView Hospital, Paw Paw. He was born May 20, 1927 in Paw Paw, the son of the late James Vernon and Edith (Munson) Potter. Max was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. H e attended the General Motors Institute in Flint and became an insurance adjuster. He taught at Portage Central Vo-Tech program and managed the Manpower Program. He owned and operated Paw Paw Collision Service and Paw Paw Auto Rebuilders in Paw Paw. In his later years Max delivered recreational vehicles all over the country. He was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw where he served as president of the Congregation, was on the church building committee and financial board chairman. He loved golfing, fishing and gardening. On Sept. 15, 1946 in Paw Paw, Max was united in marriage to Grace A. Blaesing who survives. Also surviving is a son, Steven (Gloria) Potter of Glen Ellyn, IL; 2 daughters, Marcia Potter of Claremont, CA and Claudia Potter of Tavares, FL; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie (Jorge) Sevilla of Lisle, IL and Nathaniel P. Katz of Boston, MA; 2 great grandchildren, Javier and Giselle Sevilla; 2 sisters, Verna Gibbs of Oak Lawn, IL and Jo Ann Pasill of Tavares, FL; many beloved nieces and nephews; dear friends and neighbors, Albert Treat of Paw Paw and Clifford Specht of Lawrence, Beth and Rich Brovold and the Madison family. Family will receive friends Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw where services will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Whittaker officiating. Interment will follow in Cuddeback Cemetery, Paw Paw with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Maple City Veterans Memorial Park, Paw Paw. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.

Grace, Steve and family - Our Families go way back together and lots of good times, church at Trinity, picnics, hunting, fishing, school, confirmation and we will miss Max very much. You all were such great friends to my mom and dad.
