Arthur died Monday afternoon May 17, 2010 in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born March 1, 1942 in El Paso, Texas the son of Ossie and Ottilie (Schulze) Dompier. During the Vietnam War, he was proud to have served with the U.S. Navy. Arthur had been a Kalamazoo area resident for many years and was employed with the International Paper Company for 6 years before retiring. He also attended Kalamazoo First Assembly of God Church. Arthur was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by 4 children, Anya Dompier of Kalamazoo, William J. Stevens of Missouri, Arthur J. Dompier, Jr. of Tennessee, and Jamie Dompier of Indiana; a grandson, Johnathon Russell, Jr.; several granddaughters; mother, Ottilie Brown of Paw Paw; 9 brothers and sisters, Ruby (Henry) Weeks of Carlisle, PA, Donald (Marsha) Brown of Paw Paw, Ernest Brown of Gobles, Jack (Jill) Brown of Paw Paw, Charlie Brown of South Haven, Dora (Kevin) Stubbs of Paw Paw, Debra Brown of Lawrence, Vermilya Clarke of Houston, TX, and Kenneth Dompier of Harvey, IL; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his close friend, Patricia VerMeulen of Kalamazoo. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25th at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment with full military honors will be held Tuesday, June 1, 1:30 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. Memorials may be directed to the Johnathon Russell Jr. educational expense fund.

May you rest in the arms of God and your children know that you were thiught of often and fondly remebered. I remember your coming home on leave, the Thanksgiving we spent with you in Kalamzoo, and you teaching my daughter Jenniffer how to shout " Love Bug" everytime she saw a Volkswagan. She still treasures the charm braclet you pick out in Mexico. Rest now your journey on easrth has ended, but your life in heven has just begun.
