Paw Paw
Bette passed away Tuesday morning, June 8, 2010 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. She was born September 9, 1927 in Lemont, IL the daughter of the late George and Agnes (Counter) Hoster. She was employed as an executive secretary for Argo Corn Products for many years. Bette was a member of St. Mary's Church, Paw Paw where she was the organist for several years. Bette was a musician and along with her sons played at over 400 weddings in the area. She was an avid sports enthusiast, loved bowling, played softball until the age of 60 and attended her grandchildren's sporting events. On April 7, 1956 in Lemont, IL, Bette was united in marriage to Lawrence W. Field who survives. Also surviving are 5 children, Don Field of Paw Paw, David (Ann) Field of Paw Paw, Deborah (Steve) Bizzis of Portage, Sharon (Bob) Zwalua of Mattawan and Sheila (Chris) Croy of Paw Paw; 9 grandchildren; brother, Bob (Virg) Hoster of Lemont, IL; sisters, Maryann Wojnowski of Lemont, IL and Lee (Marty) Davis of California; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Hoster. Family will receive friends Thursday, June 10th, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held Thursday evening 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 11th, 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier celebrant. A luncheon will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St Mary's School or church.

Bette was an extraordinary woman. I will always hold fond memories of her. God just added another band member to his orchestra. All of you are in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. She was an amazing woman and I have so many fond memories of her and the years I was privledged to play softball with her. Please accept my deepest sympathies and may God comfort and keep you all in his loving arms during this difficult time.

We are saddened by the loss of your mother, as she was such an incredible woman. Please know that our hearts are praying for you now in your time of loss. While we cannot join you during this sorrowful time, I sincerely hope we can all get together sometime soon and share some fond memories of Bette.
